Are you looking for a Pre-school curriculum? If you are I am sharing a few of the curriculum choices we have used over our time of homeschooling.
My children have attended a Mother’s Day Out program when they were 3 and 4 and learned a tremendous amount from those programs, but we also supplemented with our own Pre-school curriculum to make sure they had the basics before starting Kindergarten. My oldest two children were in public school when they attended Kindergarten, so my third child was my first experience with Pre-school and Kindergarten.
Curriculum Used for Pre-School:
We used the Horizons Preschool Complete Curriculum & Multimedia Set for some of our schooling. This is a fun curriculum that has a lot of great fun worksheets, activities, and hands-on learning.
Although I found this to be more for a school room setting (for more than one student). If you have multiple children that you are going to be teaching Pre-School to this would be a great program.
It is from a biblical view and incorporates those lessons in the curriculum. They will memorize bible verses, learn about the world around them, and more.
Horizons also offers a new curriculum for three-year old’s now.
Confessions of a Homeschooler Curriculum:
Confessions of a Homeschooler offers a few curriculum choices for 3 to 5 years old. I personally purchased both of these programs and really enjoyed them.
Letter of the Week: This program is geared for your 3 to 4-year-old. Full lesson plans included. You will learn a new letter every week, but also have a lot of hands-on fun. It includes learning letter recognition and sounds, basic math skills, writing and fine motor skills. I really enjoyed this curriculum so much I purchased the K-4 curriculum when my little one was ready for Kindergarten.
This curriculum is very affordable starting at $15.00.
You will be printing everything out for this curriculum, so I suggest a good color laser printer.
This is the program that comes after Letter of The Week. It is for 4 to 5 year old’s ready for Kindergarten. They will complete a daily learning notebook and more. There are full lesson plans for 34 weeks for learning. It includes learning letter recognition and sounds, basic math skills, writing, beginning phonics, fine motor skills, and more.
This curriculum is very affordable starting at $15.00.
You will be printing everything out for this curriculum, so I suggest a good color laser printer.
Final thought:
You do not necessarily have to use a curriculum, you can print off worksheets online and have fun while learning. Learing while your young ones are little can be taught anywhere,in the store, at the park, at home, anywhere. Remember your little one’s need a lot of movement, and fun. Do not stress out thinking your child will not be ready, they will be ready when they are ready. Do not push it!
