CTC Math : TOS Review

Are you scratching your head trying to decide which curriculum you’re going to use for math? CTC Math is here to help take the guess-work out of that decision. I was given an online 12 Month Family Plan membership to review in our homeschool, this is an online math program for use with up to TEN children.

CTC Math is a full online curriculum that will take the guess-work out of planning math. CTC Math offers curriculum from Kindergarten through 12th Grade. The lessons are easy to navigate, and you have the ability to start your child where you feel they need to.

CTC Math  was very helpful for me in making the decision of where I needed to place my son when starting the program. CTC Math offers diagnostic testing before each subject or grade so you know where your children’s learning gaps are, or where they are proficient. Diagnostic testing is a wonderful feature for us, I  would sometimes question if my son would retain what he was learning, with these tests you will know exactly where your child may need extra help.

The parents dashboard gives you detailed summary of your children’s progress in one place. You are able to print the reports for each test and unit.  This is especially helpful if you live in a state that requires you to keep records.

When your child logs into their dashboard they will see where they started and left off the last time they were logged in. If you feel your child has mastered the lesson or unit you can then choose to have them complete the diagnostic testing for that unit and move on to the next unit.

The program itself is self-paced so your child does not have to feel rushed. If you or your children need to repeat a lesson, or go over a missed concept you have the ability to re-watch or rewind any portion for the lessons. The lessons are presented in a video for each lesson. Your child will watch each lesson, at the end of the lesson they will answer a series of questions that were taught in that lesson, and they will see their grade for that lesson. You also have the ability to print the lesson summary for each lesson. This is also helpful if you need the step by step instructions.

My family has used other online math programs before, but CTC Math has been our favorite. One reason is that the teacher is an actual person speaking and teaching the lesson, other programs have a digital voice which my children did not like.  The monotone sound of other programs would bore my children, but CTC Math keeps their interest with real/human narrating from the instructor. The teacher has an Australian accent and my children found it fun to listen to.   This program is a multi-sensory way to teach math, my visual learners especially like it.

CTC Math is extremely easy to navigate. Just log in, pick the grade and lesson, then complete the lesson and questions. You get instant feedback about how your child did on each lesson.  I really like CTC Math and recommend this program as the teacher in our homeschool,  I do not have to stress about math. My children really enjoy using this program online too. They like the ability to see how they did, rewinding the lessons, or testing out of the concepts they have already mastered.
