I have kids! There’s messes in our home! Can you relate?
No mess, quick drying, solid tempera paint sticks for all ages. Finally, paint that doesn’t mean tons of time spent on clean up. Safe and non-toxic!
In our homeschool we love to create and work on art projects and that can get messy. Anytime I can tame the mess is a plus!
My interest was piqued the first time we were sent Kwik Stix by The Pencil Grip, Inc. for review, so when they contacted me to use their *New* Thin Stix we were more than excited to say yes.
A little side note disclaimer: A set of Thin Stix was sent to me from The Pencil Grip, Inc. for my honest review. The links in this post are Affiliate links to Amazon.com.
What makes Kwik Stix and Thin Stix so AMAZING?
Kwik Stix are Solid Tempera Paints that come in the form of a twistable glue stick-like tube. Their colors are vibrant and true. They are virtually MESS-FREE. Did you get that? Mess-free! That is music to a Momma’s ears. Another amazing thing is that they dry is 90 seconds or less. This is not just their tagline, it’s true! We tested this many, many times and everything we painted dried super fast.
Kwik Stix are for ALL age groups to create with. They can be used on more than just paper. They work wonderful on wood, canvas, poster paper, cardboard, and so much more. Unlike traditional tempera paint Kwik Stix DO NOT need water. Simply get them out, let the kiddo’s have fun, put the lids back on and put them away. Now doesn’t that sound a little like “art time heaven?”
Kwik Stix products are AP Certified which means that they are non-toxic and safe for children. Just in case your lil one decides that the red looks delicious. I can’t imagine it will taste good, but at least Jr. won’t get hurt.
The Thin Stix are wonderful for those projects that need finer detail. Thin Stix are a tad bit thinner than the regular one’s and their tubes are taller so the amount of paint is the same as the regular one’s even though they are thinner. Genius!
Here’s a few ways we had fun with Thin Stix!
Balloon Fun! We blew up regular latex balloons and painted faces, emoji’s, scenes, and even practiced sight word writing on them. You can play a sight word game where they “hit” the sight word up in the air when you call it out. Art fun and learning.
The Thin Stix were buttery smooth when we painted on canvas. We purchased a set of very inexpensive canvases and had a “free art” time. Pretty funny how they all choose something in nature. I loved that they were able to paint this and not worry about the other colors smearing or smudging because the Thin Stix dried so quickly.
Working on our wood project was lots of fun. They were able to “paint” in details with no problem. The paint also adhered to the wood just fine.
Funny little story about the picture frame (top center – orange & blue), my son accidentally painted it upside down so we decided it would become “corn hole” for his figurines. (chuckle, chuckle)
Those are just a few ways that Kwik Stix and Thin Stix can be enjoyed. Use your creativity and imagination and you never know what you might “paint” on next.
Here’s a little side note: if Jr. decides to paint on his hands….or legs…or forehead… the paint is easily washed away with normal hand or body washing!
I know that you will enjoy Kwik Stix and Thin Stix as much as we did!
They truly are a MUST HAVE art supply.
Thin Stix are available in 6, 12, and 24 packs of assorted, neon, and matalix colors in both original and thin sizes.
